Kristin Davis Defends Sex & The City London Premiere

Kristin Davis has defended the decision to hold the world premiere of the Sex And The City movie in London instead of its spiritual home in New York.

The stars of the hit HBO show hit Leicester Square last night, two weeks ahead of the screening in the Big Apple, and insisted the film debut in the U.K. was not meant to offend their New York fans.

Davis, who plays Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the film and TV series which proceeded it, tells WENN: "It's great to be in New York, we're not excluding New York, there's enough of us to go around.

“(But) England has always been so supportive of us, and this is an incredible turnout; why not London? I love Britain."

And her co-star Sarah Jessica Parker admits the decision was made by their studio bosses at New Line.

Parker, who stars as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw, adds: "This is where New Line decided to do it and we're thrilled to start here then take it home to New York."

Producers at New Line Cinema are planning to make it up to New York's Sex and the City fans by holding a spectacular party at the city's famous Radio City Music Hall straight after the Stateside premiere.
