It looks like Katie Holmes may be heading to Broadway after all.
According to a new report, Tom Cruise’s missus is close to signing on the dotted line to play Ann Deever in a revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons.
"Katie is very well suited for the role of Ann," producer Eric Falkenstein tells OK!.
"There is an additional layer of soul to Ann and from the work I've seen of Katie, she has always impressed with multi-faceted characters. She would nail it."
Falkenstein insists he is impressed with Katie's acting ability rather than her star power.
"Despite being in the spotlight and her celebrity status, the fact remains that she has a tremendous record of performances," he says.
"I think Katie is a tremendous actor. Whenever she decides to come to the stage she'll be terrific."
Last month it was reported that Katie planned to flee to New York with daughter Suri in a bid to break away from the controlling ways of her husband.
However, aides close to the couple branded speculation that their marriage is in trouble as "absolutely false".
Katie's latest career move is expected to be formally announced within the next 10 days, reports OK!.
