Heather Mills has been slammed for ignoring the pleas of a disabled woman she promised to help.

The former model had promised to pay for artificial legs for Maria Rybkina, after meeting the 28-year-old, who had been left without any legs following a horrific train accident when she was five.

However, despite repeated promises to pay the five-figure costs for specially fitted artificial legs for Maria, Mills never actually paid any money.

Couple Robin and Inna Barratt raised the money instead over a two year period, and have slammed Mills for not carrying through on her promises.

Robin tells the News Of The World, "At first we thought she was a really sincere person. But all her big promises came to nothing. It was shocking behaviour.

“Heather rang us and emailed us repeatedly with promises to pay for Maria's legs.

"But every single promise she made fell flat. In the end, she never did anything at all."
