American Idol Hopeful's Domineering Dad Banned

American Idol star David Archuleta's dad Jeff has been banned from the show after infuriating producers with his interfering ways.

He was banned from being with David after he sang altered lyrics to Stand By Me this week at his dad’s suggestion, even though he had been told by producers he wasn’t allowed to change the words.

Jeff was "banned from being in the rooms where David was learning or rehearsing his songs", after being summoned to a meeting before the show’s lawyers on Wednesday, reports TMZ.com.

The latest incident is only the last in the latest of domineering Dad acts, with reports Jeff was also banned from the set of ‘Star Search’ when David, 17, appeared in the show a couple of years ago.
