Justin Timberlake sympathises with Miley Cyrus over her Vanity Fair spread and claimed he is going to make a fashion statement with T-shirts stating ‘Leave Miley Alone’.

The former Mickey Mouse Club member has urged people to stop picking on Disney’s Hannah Montana star after photos of her posing topless with just a sheet to cover her modesty made headlines last week.

Speaking to MTV, the SexyBack singer said: "Of course they're going to pick (on) a wholesome, American, young female (for) the first sign of anything.

"Unfortunately, there's a picture of her that's published with her in just a blanket. And that's the photo, that's the catalyst. But that's also the age we live in. People want to take a photo, and that's who you are for a year's time. We've all become victims of that."

In order to defend the teen superstar over the scandal, Justin joked: "I'm gonna make 'Leave Miley Alone' T-shirts."
