Eastenders scooped Best Soap at the British Soap Awards, but it was Hollyoaks which proved the most decorated show on the night.

The Channel 4 teenage drama won six awards at the ceremony in London, ahead of Coronation Street’s five, which included one special achievement award for retired Vera Duckworth actress Liz Dawn.

BBC’s Eastenders secured three other gongs in addition to their top prize, including Best Storyline for Max and Stacey’s affair.
