Miley Cyrus has pulled out of what was to be her first public appearance since news of her controversial Vanity Fair photo spread surfaced.

The actress/singer was billed to appear at a Disney party in Orlando, Florida today, but organisers have confirmed she won't be there.

The 15-year-old star hit the headlines earlier this week when a provocative bare-backed photo from the Annie Leibovitz Vanity Fair photo shoot appeared online.

It is still unknown if the Hannah Montana star will appear at the KIIS FM Wango Tango concert in California next week alongside fellow troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan.

Cyrus is meant to be performing at the day-long pop and hip-hop festival, along with The Jonas Brothers, Cisco Adler's new act Shwayze, Snoop Dogg and Danity Kane, while Lohan is to slated guest host the event.

Lohan is currently facing family issues as she attempts to revive her acting and music career following a rehab stint, while 15-year-old Cyrus has been hitting the headlines for separate photo scandals, which feature her scantily clad and posing with an unnamed boy.
