Ewan McGregor has signed up for the sequel to The Da Vinci Code.

The Scottish star will play Swiss Guard boss Commander Olivetti in the follow up to the hit book adaptation.

The 37-year-old Trainspotting star will be joined by lead star Tom Hanks in ‘Angels And Demons’, who returns as historian Dr Robert Langdon.

A source tells The Mirror, “It's a good part for Ewan."
