Nick Lachey has been announced as the host of a new reality show which aims to find the next Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron.

U.S. network ABC will be holding casting calls in for High School Musical: Summer Session over the coming weeks.

Though the exact premise has yet to be revealed, a network rep tells Usmagazine.com that the successful young wannabes will be "a part of HSM history."

This will be Lachey's second stab at reality TV, after his co-starring role in MTV's Newlyweds with ex-wife, Jessica Simpson.

High School Musical: Summer Session is set to premiere on July 20.
