Richie Sambora Pleads Guilty To DUI Charge

Richie Sambora has plea bargained his way out of a potential prison term after accepting he was guilty of drink driving in Laguna Beach, California last month.

Facing up to six months behind bars at his arraignment in May, the Bon Jovi rocker pleaded no contest to driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher in court on Tuesday.

As a result, a DUI charge was dismissed, together with a charge of child endangerment for driving drunk with his 10-year old daughter and her cousin as passengers.

Prosecutors in the case refused to file the child endangerment charges, despite prompting from Laguna Beach police officials.

Represented in court by Mel Gibson and Lindsay Lohan's former attorney, Blair Berk, Sambora was ordered to pay fines and damages amounting an estimated $1,600 (£800).

TMZ also reports the rocker will be placed on probation for three years and must attend an alcohol education course.
