No expense was spared for Suri Cruise’s second birthday, as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes went all out to make the day as memorable as possible for the celebutot.
The party on Friday was held at the family home in the Hollywood Hills with Tom filling the house with $17,000 worth of fresh flowers.
A friend close to the Cruises’ revealed that the theme of the bash was butterflies, which the birthday girl is obsessed with. "Suri adores butterflies," an insider told In Touch.
A four-tierred birthday cake was adorned with butterflies and bumble-bees. "All of the cakes were Italian-wedding flavored, but specifically made without the usual rum," says a party guest. "Obviously, they wanted them non-alcoholic since Suri is only 2."
Twenty-four of TomKat’s closest friends and family, including Tom's mom, Mary Lee South, as well as his two children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Isabella and Connor, arrived for the bash.
"It was immediate family and their closest friends only," the insider says. "There were no celebrities invited to the daytime bash."
Later that night, TomKat opened the doors to his celebrity friends, including A-list names such as David and Victoria Beckham, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Eva Longoria Parker, and Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy.
"The catering bill for the two parties cost Tom more than $45,000," reveals the insider. "It was a great party. Suri was in a really great mood and loved having all the balloons around.”
