David Beckham Finally Heals Rift With Dad

David Beckham’s father has revealed his recent near fatal heart-attack has finally healed the rift between him and his son.

The pair had fallen out after Ted divorced Becks’ mum in 2001 and then became estranged when the 59-year-old followed up with a book detailing personal information about the soccer superstar.

However, Ted now says father and son are firmly reconciled following his heart-attack before Christmas, which saw Becks rush over from his Los Angeles’ home to be by his bedside.

He tells the News Of The World, “I can ring David any time. We've now got a good father/son relationship and I'm very proud of him.

"We've had our ups and downs, but deep down, it's a very strong bond between me and David."

"People try to knock David - he's been kicked many times - but he's still up there.

"He's got three great boys and a wife who encourages him. People think he's a softie and he talks funny, but David has a very strong personality, and that's what I'm most proud of."

Ted even has some kind words for wife Victoria’s music – although he admits he’s not a fan of the Spice Girls.

"I went to see Victoria in the Spice Girls tour. I'm not into their music but they were superb. Victoria was brilliant and it was nice to hear the crowd cheering her because she does go through a lot,” he says.
