Popular Apprentice loser Simon Smith has revealed he blew £20,000 on a five-year cocaine addiction which cost him his marriage.
The 35-year-old won the sympathy of viewers after a dignified exit from the show on Wednesday night, but he has admitted he became a drug-addict after leaving his oft-mentioned Army career.
He tells the Sunday Mirror, “I blew over £20,000 on cocaine in five years. I was completely selfish. My whole life revolved around getting wrecked.
"The same competitive streak you saw in The Apprentice meant I felt I had to out-drink everyone, take more drugs than anyone else.
"I completely ripped my exwife's life apart. There is not a day goes by without me regretting how selfish I was. I broke her heart."
However, despite his early exit from The Apprentice – which attracted a record 7.6million viewers – he has vowed to plough on with his new career installing satelitte dishes, and new life with his new girlfriend and new baby.
