Amy Winehouse Cancels New Album Recording

Amy Winehouse has reportedly cancelled a trip to start recording her third album at the last minute.

The singer was due to meet up with producer Saleem Remi, who worked on her last two LPs, in the Bahamas, but Winehouse is said to have changed her mind just before leaving.

A source tells The Sun, “Island wanted to get her away from it all and thought it would be great surroundings for her.

“It was a very expensive trip and it was hoped they would make some decent progress recording the album. But Amy pulled out at the last minute.”

The source adds record company bosses are now worried a follow-up to her smash hit album ‘Back To Black’ will now not appear until next year.

“The album was planned for late 2008, but her label is now privately admitting it’s unlikely to happen until 2009,” they explain.

“She’s not the kind of artist you can just stick in the studio for a month and get an album done. And I now think early 2009 would be a good result.”
