TV Presenter Mark Speight Reported Missing

Children’s TV presenter Mark Speight has been reported missing.

The 45-year-old was arrested in January on suspicion of murder and supplying Class A drugs after his fiancée Natasha Collins was found dead in the bath at their London flat.

No charges were brought, and last week a coroner recorded a verdict of death by misadventure.

Speight - who fronted BBC kid's show SMart – was reportedly dropped off at Wood Green station in north London on Monday morning.

Family and friends raised the alarm after he failed to turn up for a meeting with a friend in Covent Garden at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, police confirm.

During the inquest into Collins’ death, Speight admitted the couple had spent the evening taking cocaine and sleeping pills, washed down with wine and vodka.

When she was found, Collins had 60% burns to her body. The cause of death was given as cocaine toxicity and immersion in hot water.

Coroner Paul Knapman said it was also likely Collins had a heart condition that caused her to lose consciousness.

In February, Speight announced that his “tragic loss” had made it impossible for him to continue presenting SMart.
