Nicole Richie has denied reports that she is to marry her boyfriend Joel Madden this summer.

The socialite, who earlier this year gave birth to the Good Charlotte singer’s daughter Harlow Winter, is said to be handing out invitations for their wedding.

Reports also claim that the impending nuptials could take place as early as next week.

However, The Simple Life star’s spokesperson denied that rumours, stating that Joel has not even proposed to Nicole.

She quite simply says: "They are not even engaged."
