Heath Ledger's 'Ex-Lover' Denies Love Child Rumours

A woman at the centre of reports that Heath Ledger fathered a secret love child has spoken out to dismiss the claims as groundless.

As Entertainmentwise reported previously, the Brokeback Mountain star’s estranged uncle dished to Australian media on an alleged fling the actor had with a with a 25-year-old woman when he was 17 – and the resulting now 11-year-old girl.

However, the woman (who has chosen to remain anonymous) and her husband say they are willing to take a DNA test to prove Ledger is not the father.

"I'm not answering anything," she told UK the Daily Mail .

"I think it's very, very rude that I'm being posed all of this. I really do. I can't talk about anything."

"You have no proof, there's no background, there's no grounds, there's no nothing."

Her husband backed her claims: "The whole thing with [Ledger being the father] is no. No way. No can be."

"We knew it would flare up and that is the point of my talking and the simple thing is we will do a DNA test."

"I'm the step-dad, but there's nothing to hide...and if I asked [the mother] I'm sure that she wouldn't mind [to have a DNA test]," he added.

Ledger - who was found dead from an accidental drugs overdose in January - has a two-year-old daughter, Matilda, with actress Michelle Williams.
