Madonna has hit out at the London transport system and current mayor Ken Livingston, just weeks after rumours emerged she was fleeing the city to live in New York.
One of Madge’s homes is in the capital, and speaking to Q magazine, the 49-year-old used the opportunity to attack the congestion charge and the London underground.
Asked by the publication whether she will be voting for Ken Livingston in the upcoming mayoral elections, Madonna responded: “No. The traffic in London is worse than ever now. All Red Ken wants is roadworks going on everywhere.
"Don't use The Tube; can't use the roads? No. I'll just have to walk I guess."
Madge added that if she was mayor she would grant special privileges to certain members of society, continuing: "I would make it so that young musicians, aspiring musicians wouldn't have to pay the congestion charge or pay taxes."
Despite Madonna’s protests, a spokesperson for Ken Livingston said: "If we hadn't had the C-charge we would now be in gridlock. The roadworks she refers to are long overdue."
A Friends of The Earth spokesperson also denounced her complaints, telling the BBC: “The C-charge has reduced congestion and cut carbon dioxide emissions."
