Groveling Ashley Cole is planning to buy wife Cheryl a new wedding ring in a bid to make up for doing the dirty on the Girls Aloud babe.

Cheryl is till refusing to wear her original band, despite agreeing to take her husband back after he cheated on her with a blonde hairdresser.

A source tells The Mirror: "Ashley is crushed every time Cheryl refuses to wear the ring. He is desperate for them to move on and is keen to make her happy.

"He wants to buy a new ring, twice as blinging, and will easily spend £160,000.

"He wants Cheryl to have the choice of wearing something new if she can't face wearing the old one because it brings back bad memories."

Ashley has reportedly also vowed to quit partying to win back Cheryl's trust.

Meanwhile, a ringless - and braless - Cheryl hit the town for Kimberley Walsh's sister's 21st birthday party at the weekend -and joined her worse-for-wear bandmates in putting on a drunken show for photographers.
