Angelina Jolie Wants Chateaux For Mother's Spirit

Angelina Jolie hopes to secure the purchase of a $20 million French Châteaux to get closer to the spirit of her late mother.

The Hollywood star was deeply affected when Marcheline Bertrand died last year after a long battle with cancer, and now wants to “honour her memory” by giving birth in the country of her mother’s roots.

A source tells the Sunday Mirror, “Angelina has a feeling that being in France means Marcheline will be close to her spiritually when she has the baby. She believes her mother's spirit will be in the baby."

Now Angelina and her partner Brad Pitt are desperate to complete the purchase of the property near the French Riviera – originally built by monks 850 years ago – after pulling out of negotiations for the six-bedroom property last year.

"Angelina loves the fact that every single stone was put in place by monks all those centuries ago.

"The house is the ultimate status symbol. Angelina and Brad are hugely excited," a local estate agent tells the paper.
