The father of Heath Ledger has vowed to make sure his son’s ex-fiancee Michelle Williams and daughter Matilda are financially ‘taken care of’ after it emerged that they had been left out of the late actor’s will.
Having filed his will in April 2003, before making the Oscar-winning movie Brokeback Mountain and meeting mother of his two-year old daughter, Ledger left everything to his parents Kim and Sally, and his older sister Kate.
However, both Ledger’s representative Mara Buxbaum and his father Kim have dismissed reports that Michelle and Matilda will not be provided for, states People.
Buxbaum says: “The story is getting taken out of context and media is speculating that this means Matilda and Michelle will not be taken care of. I want to make it very clear nothing could be farther from the truth."
And in a statement released on Saturday afternoon, Kim added: "Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that's how Heath would want it to be."
Details of the will showed Ledger had less than $145,000 (£72,500) worth of assets in New York at the time, including a $25,000 (£12,500) Toyota Prius and $20,000 (£10,000) in furniture.
Ledger was found dead earlier this year from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
