Prince Harry has insisted he shouldn’t be hailed as a hero after returning from active army duty in Afghanistan.
The British royal revealed a fter touching back down in Britain yesterday that he travelled back with two injured soldiers, and they are the real heroes to him.
He said, “There were two injured guys who came back on the plane with us who were essentially comatose throughout the whole way.
"One had lost two limbs - a left arm and a right leg - and another guy who was saved by his mate's body being in the way but took shrapnel to the neck.
"I wouldn't say I was a hero. Those are the heroes, those were guys who had been blown up by a mine that they had no idea about, serving their country, doing a normal patrol. I was a bit shocked.
“It is a bit of a choke in your throat because you know that it's happening."
However, such realisations haven’t stunted Harry’s ambitions to return to the frontline.
"I would love to go back out and I've already mentioned it to my commanding officer that I want to go out very, very soon," he says.
Harry’s immediate plans though are a two week romantic break with his girlfriend Chelsea Davy.
He’s taking her to Africa, on what is thought to be a safari - presumably so he doesn’t get out of practice shooting at things.
