Ex-Solider James Blunt Supports Prince Harry

Ex-soldier James Blunt has supported Prince Harry’s tour of duty in war-torn Afghanistan.

The military man turned singer said on US TV yesterday that Prince Harry’s service was his duty as a soldier.

Asked whether he was surprised Harry was allowed to serve on the front-line, he said, “Not at all. He's a regular soldier. He should be at least trying his best to bring some peace and stability to that part of the world."

Blunt added that Harry’s service should highlight important global issues in the media, rather than the usual celebrity tittle-tattle.

"We focus so much on the tabloids and celebrity culture, and there are so many things we should be dealing with at the moment and a few wars that are going on around the world that do need our attention," he explained.

Prince Harry has touched back down in Britain in the last hour, and was greeted in private by Prince Charles and Prince William.

He was forced to cut short his service after details leaked out in the foreign media, despite a blanket ban on reporting in the British press.
