Heath Ledger's Final Portrait

Heath Ledger has been immortalised in a stunning portrait by his Australian artist friend Vincent Fantauzzo.

The actor sat for several hour-plus portrait sessions for Fantauzzo – but sadly never got to see the finished work as it was completed just one say before his tragic death on January 22.

Fantauzzo reveals that the theme behind the haunting image – which depicts three versions of Heath - is the idea that “we all have different consciences and voices in our head that tell us what to do and how to react. They're not good or bad, they're just voices that we hear, telling us how to behave."

When it came to sitting for the portait, Fantauzzo tells PageSix: "Heath was really serious and focused and almost in a meditation. He's quite serious."

Fantauzzo insists, however, that Heath seemed content when they met for the sessions.

He says: "I think Heath was really feeling quite comfortable with himself recently, so it was easy to do it this time around. He gave me a call [in December] and said he was in Perth...so I jumped on a plane right away, and that's where we did the painting."
