Lindsay Lohan has blamed “this industry” on the untimely death of actor Heath Ledger.
The Mean Girls star – who was romantically linked to Ledger and was seen crying days after he passed – goes as far to compare the Brokeback Mountain star's death to that of Marilyn Monroe.
"You know, it’s also tragic what just recently happened to someone else,” Lohan told New York magazine, referring to Ledger’s shock passing last month.
She adds: “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.”
Yet the 21-year-old – who has battled through three separate stints in rehab for her own drug and alcohol issues - insists she won’t endure the same fate.
“I'm not them,” she concludes. “I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me.”
Ledger died last month at his New York apartment after an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. He was 28.
