Jaws star Roy Scheider has died. He was 75.
According to reports the actor passed in Little Rock, Arkansas on Wednesday after complications from a staph infection.
Schieder had been treated for multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells, which was classified as in partial remission after he underwent a bone marrow transplant in June 2005.
The actor was best known for playing police chief Martin Brody in Steven Spielberg's famous 1975 shark thriller.
Scheider also received two Oscar nominations during his career for The French Connection in 1972 and the coveted best actor award for 1979's All That Jazz.
