Hot British favourites Kiera Knightley, Sienna Miller and Julie Christie went home empty handed from last night’s prestigious Bafta Awards.
Keira & Julie lost out in the Best Actress category to little-known Marion Cotillard, the French star of La Vie En Rose.
Transformers star Shia LaBeouf bagged the Rising Star prize, as voted for by the public, ahead of Sienna.
Keira's wartime romantic epic Atonement - up for 14 awards - had been expected to clean up at the awards, but garnered just two - best film and best production.
It wasn't all bad news for the Brits - Daniel Day-Lewis was named Best Actor for his role as oil baron Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood, whilst Tilda Swinton was honoured in the Supporting Actress catagory.
