Eva Mendes is reportedly struggling with a ‘well-hidden’ substance abuse problem.

The actress went under the media radar and entered the Cirque Lodge facility last month amid reports she was battling several personal issues.

"She kept it all behind closed doors and wasn't really a mess in public," an insider tells Us magazine. "She has a lot of low self-esteem and body issues."

Another source goes on to claim that the 31-year-old actress was abusing cocaine amongst other things. 

“For a lot of girls in Hollywood, cocaine makes them feel more confident and stay skinny."

A spokesperson for Mendes has since confirmed that the actress has left rehab after she was spotted boarding a plane to Los Angeles.

”Eva is attending to some personal business in Los Angeles and intends to return to complete her treatment shortly,” her rep told PageSix.

The Cirque Lodge has become a leading celebrity refuge in recent months - Lindsay Lohan spent last summer there; rocker Richie Sambora also stayed at the facility last year, and actress Kirsten Dunst has just checked in.
