J.Lo's Dad: It's Twins!

Jennifer Lopez’s father has confirmed that the singer is expecting twins.

Speaking to Latino television show, Escandalo, David Lopez confirmed that his daughter – who is expecting her first child with Marc Anthony – will receive a double dose of baby joy.

"It's twins,” said Lopez Snr. “The thing is in my family, my sister also had twins, so it's a hereditary thing.

"I'm very proud. Jennifer has yearned to be a mother for many years."

Last week Anthony - who already has two children from a previous marriage - revealed his fears about missing the birth because of work commitments.

"I've been with her 24 hours a day, and I'm going to be away from her for just a few hours" said the 39-year-old. "She can't go into labour during that time.

"I mean, I'm praying that doesn't happen."

The Get Right singer is preparing to give birth for the first time in the coming days after a string of premature reports suggested she had checked into a Long Island, New York hospital last month.
