Heath Ledger’s family have touched down in Australia ahead of a private funeral for the late actor, expected to be held later this week.
After spending two-weeks in the U.S, where they held a private family service in New York and a Hollywood memorial service in Los Angeles, Ledger’s father Kim and other relatives appeared glum as they walked through the airport Tuesday afternoon local time.
The grieving family were quickly whisked away from the waiting media by tight security.
"I'm sorry," Kim said as he was escorted away into the elevator.
The Brokeback Mountain star was found dead in his New York apartment on January 22.
An initial autopsy failed to reveal the cause of death. Police are still awaiting the results of a toxicology, which are due in the next 48-hours.
As reported by Entertainmentwise yesterday, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Sienna Miller and Ellen DeGeneres were amongst the celebrities who attended a second memorial service in for Ledger in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The latest reports reveal that in addition to his family, The Dark Knight stars former fiancee, Michelle Williams was joined by Josh Hartnett and Ledger’s other ex, Naomi Watts for the emotional tribute which took place at Sony Studios.
