The Spice Girls have announced they’re cutting short their Reunion World Tour, with reports of furious rows behind the scenes.
The reformed five-piece have cut six dates from their planned schedule, with Mel C and Mel B reportedly falling out behind the scenes of their massive, money-spinning tour.
Whilst the other girls were keen to continue into Argentina, Australia, South Africa and China, tensions between the two Mels – exaserbated by a desire to return to their regular lives – now mean the Spice Girls’ final gig will be in Toronto later this month.
In a statement the girls say, “Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives.
“But who knows what will happen? We’ve had an amazing time.”
However, a source tells today’s Mirror, “It looks like the end. It took so long to get them together it’s unlikely to happen again soon, if ever. It’s very sad.”
They continue, “Tempers have been running high and there have been times when they’ve just lost it with each other.
“Mel B misses her husband and children and said she couldn’t go on. She’s also been flooded with US offers after her success on Dancing with Stars.
“Mel C agreed it was time to call it off. She was the least excited about the tour. She also feared it might jeopardise her solo career.
“The others wanted to go on, but couldn’t persuade the Mels. Without them, there was no point.”
