Britney Spears Classified As 'Gravely Disabled'

Britney Spears has been classified as ‘G.D’ – or ‘Gravely Disabled’ - according to sources at UCLA Medical Center.

The troubled singer was temporarily committed to the centre in the early hours of Thursday morning, after her psychiatrist called police over of her "erratic driving" and “downhill behavior.”

Brit was initially held under a under a 72-hour ‘5150 hold' but this new classification could mean that the pop mess is in for a much longer stay.

TMZ reports that a person classified as G.D. “is unable to take care of basic needs, such .as the acquisition of food, clothing or shelter.”

The website also states that being G.D. is one of the criteria for involuntary commitment.

Brit was described as “non-responsive” as she was carted off by ambulance yesterday – however, many outlets report that it was quite a different story once the singer reached the centre.

It’s claimed that a 'manic' Brit accused her mother of sleeping with her boyfriend, reportedly screaming, "The only reason she's admitting me is because she wants to be alone with her boyfriend! She wants to sleep with my boyfriend!"
