The NYPD has confirmed that no illegal drugs were found in the New York apartment where Heath Ledger died.

It was reported yesterday that police had discovered a $20 bill on the floor next to Ledger’s bed, which was rolled up "in a certain way" that made it “suspicious.”

Police sources have since confirmed that the note tested clean for illegal narcotics.

NYPD sources tell TMZ that pill bottles containing the anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium) and Lorazepam (Ativan) were found at the scene, along with sleeping medication Zoplicone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril.)

It is understood that all of the drugs were prescribed to Ledger and that the bottles were nearly full.

New York's CBS 2 reported yesterday that police also recovered "several drug packets containing an unknown substance," according to a source.

The website stresses that it's still unknown at this stage whether these items belonged to the 28-year-old actor, whether he ingested them, or even whether the substances are illegal.

The exact cause of Ledger's death will not be known until the toxicology results come in, which is expected to be in the next ten days.
