Actor Jesse Metcalfe seems to have come down in the world - he’s hosting a ‘Desperate Housewives Party’ in an Essex nightclub.

The star of the hit American TV show is scheduled to follow in the footsteps of ‘stars’ such as Jodie Marsh and Calum Best by acting host at Faces nightclub.

Metcalfe, who is dating Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, will be presenting the night on the 27th January, reports The Sun.

But is a nightclub - in Essex or indeed somewhere more salubrious - really the place for a man who admitted himself to rehab for binge drinking last year?
