Amy Winehouse’s marriage to husband Blake Fielder-Civil is rumoured to be kaput – but according to the latest reports, her divorce will have to wait.
A U.S. tabloid claims that despite Winehouse and Civil marrying in Miami, Florida in May 2007, the couple is still bound by marital laws in their native Britain - which deems that the former couple will have to wait until a year has passed before they can officially divorce.
“Under English law no divorce proceedings could be commenced until a year has passed since the date of the marriage." Alison Green, a marital law expert from London tells People.

Saying Goodbye? - Amy Winehouse arrives at HM Pentonville Prison to visit her incarcerated husband on Thursday.
But despite reports circulating that the pair have called it quits, a friend close to Blake - who is currently in prison facing charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice - insists that it may not eventuate.
"I'm sure he did (say that) - but that doesn't mean he's going to do it. That's the way they row. It's very intense."
Earlier on this week Winehouse’s father Mitch reported that Civil did indeed request a divorce from the singer.

Concerned - Mitch Winehouse arrives at Pentonville Prison to visit his son-in-law.
"Blake threatened to issue divorce proceedings when they were having a row” he told British magazine, Grazia.“He has said things like, 'I want a divorce.'"
"Unfortunately, Blake is influenced by things his mother has said," he added. "I think Georgette wants them to divorce, but it's up to them.
