Shia LaBeouf is attending Alcoholics Anonymous classes in a bid to overcome his drink demons.

The Transformers star has vowed to quit boozing after he was arrested at a Chicago drugstore last year for allegedly refusing to leave.

The charges were later dropped.
 
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Shia decided to make good use of his time off during the writers strike by dedicating 60 days to getting his two-month sobriety chip.

"He's been spending time at A.A. talking with people, drinking coffee and learning the twelve steps."

Alcohol self-help programmes are nothing new for Shia, who frequently attended A.A. classes with his drug-dealer father as a child.
