Gwyenth Paltrow was fasting at the time of her recent hospitalization, it's claimed.

As Entertainmentwise reported, the actress was taken to New York's Mount Sinai Hospital on Tuesday by husband Chris Martin, who was seen pushing a clearly “not well” Gwynie in a wheelchair.

Whilst her publicist has refused to comment on the reason for Gwyneth’s hospital visit, it’s alleged that the health-conscious actress was on a one-week fast.

Us magazine reported that Gwyneth received delivery of a bag of goodies from store Organics Avenue while at Mount Sinai.

An employee from the organic home supply store explained to New York magazine: "She's doing our five-day live-food fast.”

When the mag suggested that not eating may have been responsible for the macrobiotic fan’s funny turn, the employed insisted, "She's eating salads, there's juices. There's actually quite a bit of food there, it's just all raw and organic."

Following her release from hospital on Tuesday, Gwyneth's rep told E! News, "Everything is fine - she is back at home."
