Kevin Federline has mixed emotions about Monday’s court ruling which banned ex-wife Britney Spears from seeing their kids indefinitely – depending on who you believe.
K-Fed’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told reporters gathered outside court that the ruling – made following testimony about the dramatic events of January 3 - was “a grave situation for all.”
He said in a statement: "The word victory is not something Mr. Federline or his counsel would ascribe to this. There is no joy. This is a grave situation for all.
"[Federline's] goal," Kaplan continued, "his hope for the future is at some point he will be able to parent the children with the participation of their mother."
Kaplan may have taken a tactful line but behind closed doors, K-Fed is said to be “thrilled” with the latest development in the on-going custody battle.
A source close to the would-be rapper tells PageSix: “Kevin is thrilled with the decision. It is his goal to make sure Britney does not get any visitation or custody rights until she agrees to get help for her mental condition.”
On Monday, the emergency order awarding K-Fed custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, was extended until the next scheduled hearing in April, after Brit failed to show up to testify.
