Spears Slapped With 'Restraining Order'

More details from Britney Spears’ custody standoff have emerged, with new reports alleging that the singer was issued with a temporary restraining order last Thursday night.

People.com claim that an "emergency protective order," which is valid for five business days from the date of issue, was handed to Spears by LAPD officers after she ‘refused’ to hand over two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James to Kevin Federline's bodyguards.

"The person it's placed upon would have to stay approximately 100 feet from the other person, or face arrest," LAPD spokesman Mike Lopez told the website. "In most cases, it's issued by officers when there's the possibility of imminent and immediate danger to the victim."

The report goes on to claim that Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, declined to confirm whether the temporary restraining order on Spears – who was ushered to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following the standoff -  would seek to extend the order.

"Kevin doesn't want to keep his kids from being involved in [Spears's] life,” Kaplan added. “But foremost is that the kids be in an environment of structure [and] stability. The next goal is to get things to a point where both parents are able to participate fully in their [children's] lives."

Meanwhile a U.S. website has ran a report claiming that the Toxic singers desperation to be with her children is what triggered her meltdown last week.

"Britney was mad she had to attend the deposition when it was her day with the kids" says a source "She was supposed to give them back at 7pm but wanted to keep them for two extra hours. When they said no she pitched a fit and locked herself in the house."

Both Federline - who currently holds full custody of the two tots - and Spears are due back in court on January 14.
