Top Hollywood stars including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been criticised for failing to support the Writers Guild Of America strike.

Supporters of the long running dispute feel high profile supporters like the couple - along with Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Julia Roberts - would aid their cause.

However, insiders believe the stars have been advised to keep schtum over the strike.

A Talent Agent tells The Express, “Their publicists are telling them there's not much to gain by taking a side.”

However, the Screen Actors Guild yesterday announced their members have agreed not to cross the WGA’s picket line at the Golden Globe Awards on the 13 January.
