Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy’s idyllic New Year’s break has been rudely interrupted by civil unrest.

The 22-year-old had been enjoying the delights of the sun and sand in Kenya over the holiday period, but has since been confined to her villa.

Trouble erupted in the country after disputed elections last weekend, with police battling with protestors where Chelsy is staying in east coast town of Malindi, near Mombasa.

A source tells the News Of The World, “Things are very tense. The police are trying to break up gangs before they do real damage and tourists are keeping to their hotels and villas."
