Britney Spears' 'Total Psychotic Breakdown'

Britney Spears had “a total psychotic breakdown” as she was taken to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Thursday night, according to an eyewitness.

As Entertainmentwise reported earlier today, the troubled singer sparked a police stand-off after refusing to hand her two sons over to ex-husband Kevin Federline at the end of their scheduled visit.

The drama ended with Brit being rushed to hospital via ambulance.

A source tells Usmagazine.com: “They had to strap her down like a mental patient and she was going between laughing and hysterics.”

The source sums up her erratic behaviour as “a total psychotic breakdown. She just went crazy."

Another Brit insider told Us: "I guess she has good days and bad days - it's mental instability. All she has is to think of something sad and she goes crazy.”

A hospital source confirmed been that Brit has been designated a "special needs" patient – which means "they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide.”

As such, she will remain in hospital care for a minimum of 72 hours for mental evaluation.

Meanwhile, it's emerged that K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is due in court today with the aim of stripping the wayward mom of all her visitation rights.

Kevin already has full custody of their boys, Sean Preston, 2, and one-year-old Jayden James.
