BBC children's television presenter, Mark Speight, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend, police confirmed today.
Speight – the host of kids art show SMart - was arrested at his London home on Thursday, after the body of live-in partner Natasha Collins was reportedly found in the bath.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statment: "Police were called at 13.20 on January 3 to reports of a sudden death of a woman at a residential address in London NW8 (St John's Wood).
"The woman, aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem will take place in due course.
"Officers from Marylebone are investigating. A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene. He remains in custody at a central London police station."
Speight has since been released on bail.
A BBC spokesman had no immediate comment.
