It's reported that Jamie Lynn Spears has found an unlikely source of support following her shock pregnancy announcement - in the form of sister Britney's ex, Kevin Federline.

This latest claim comes amid rumours that the father of Jamie Lynn’s unborn baby, Casey Aldridge, has been dating other women behind the Zoey 101 star's back.

A 'Federline family member' tells OK! mag: "Kevin has long thought of Jamie Lynn as a little sister."

The source adds that the would-be rapper spoke with Jamie Lynn's mother, Lynne, before the baby news broke and was "he was heartbroken because he was concerned about what it would mean for Jamie Lynn's future."

According to the family inside, K-Fed "just wants to be part of the support system."

Jamie Lynn's boyfriend Casey is accused of being romantically involved with Whitney Seals from Magnolia, Mississippi around the time that the 16-year-old actress announced she was expecting.

Seals' brother, Kevin, tells MSNBC.com, "Whitney and Casey have been dating for months. I know Jamie Lynn was really upset and jealous when she found out about it."
