Actress Mischa Barton has joined the list of party girls who will always remember 2007 as the year of the jail cell.

The OC star followed in the footsteps of Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie and Lindsay Lohan by spending a night locked up following a driving under the influence rap on Thursday.

Police sources say Barton is also up for drug possession, and had been smoking marijuana prior to being stopped by the authorities.

Her mum stepped in with £5,000 bail so Mischa can celebrate New Year’s in freedom – although we’d advise she kept her partying to a minimum this year!
