Spice Girl Mel B has been criticised for failing to waive a £10,000 fee for a charity appearance in aid of terminally ill children.
The singer received a five figure cheque after singing a couple of Christmas songs, then collecting donations from shoppers at London department store Selfridges this week - pictures of which we brought you here.
A source tells the News Of The World, “All Mel B did was sing a couple of Christmas songs, sign autographs and mingle with the crowd collecting donations in a plastic bucket.
"And for that she pocketed £10,000 that should have gone to needy kids. Many people felt she should have waived her fee. It's the least she could have done to help raise cash for the kids."
Agents for Mel B – currently on a money-spinning Spice Girls reunion World Tour – initially refused to comment after being approached by the paper, before eventually claiming her fee would now be donated to children’s charities in America.
