Amy Winehouse is apparently desperate to go to prison so she can “feel closer” to jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The troubled singer - who was arrested on Tuesday before being released on police bail - has been spiralling out of control ever since Blake was banged up over an alleged bribery plot last month.
Now Amy is intent on being put behind bars as she believes it will help cement her rocky marriage.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "It's almost like she wants to get herself jailed so she can feel how Blake feels and in that way feel closer to him.
"Everyone is trying to get her to snap out of it but we worry. These past few weeks have been hard on her and we don't want her to self-destruct. But she's on a downward spiral."
Amy voluntarily turned herself into Shoreditch police station, in London's Hackney area, in connection with the investigation into her husband's charge of perverting the course of justice.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries."
Amy was seen slumped in the back of a people carrier as she returned home from a gruelling day of questioning.
