The X Factor backlash has begun with Rhydian fans hitting out at series bosses for their inability to vote for the Welshman.

The shows message board and Rhydian fansites have been inundated with complaints over Leon Jackson's shock series win, which fans say were a result of a poor voting system.

One fan fumed: "How many thousands of other people had a similar experience I wonder? Leon fans had a much longer time span to vote for him. What a con!" 

Another added: "As soon as Rhydian finished singing in the final showdown I tried to vote for him on at least 12 occasions within the allowed voting time (approx three minutes) only to hear a recorded message each time that the network was busy - try again later.

However one of the Welshman’s fans seemed to sum up the general consensus surrounding Leon’s shock series win saying: "The X-Factor result was a complete travesty.”

A spokesperson for the show has since denied a ‘voting fix’ and claims that some viewers may have had problems with their phone providers.
