Things look to be getting serious on the Ryan Phillippe/Abbie Cornish front.

Us Weekly magazine report that the Crash star  - who was accused of cheating on ex wife Reese Witherspoon with the Australian actress - has introduced his latest squeeze to his two children he shares with Reese Ava, 8 and Deacon, 4 during a recent Christmas shopping trip.

"Ava seemed very comfortable with Abbie” claims a source “Ava picked a wreath and Abbie put it around her head as a joke. They were both laughing."

The insider also claims that the pair – who met on the Texas set of their independent film Stop Loss - are ‘smitten’ with each other.

"They have a ton of chemistry” claims the source “Abbie is a free spirit. She indulges a side of Ryan that he's kept under wraps for years."

The same report also claims that the pair were extremely candid about their relationship during filming.

"Ryan did not go out of his way to hide the fact that he was having a fling with his co-star Abbie" claims a movie insider "Besides the fact they were spotted making out in a sushi restaurant together, she was spotted many times leaving his loft apartment."

This latest report is a stark contrast to Phillippe's interview with Man About Town magazine, where he claims he was 'suicidal' following his split from Reese.

"After the divorce, I was a physical wreck. I wanted to die" claims the actor "I was ready to kill myself. I was not taking care of myself at all. I would wake up and cry and vomit."
