Eva Mendes has been unveiled – literally - as the latest poster girl for PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign.
The We Own the Night actress follows in the footsteps of Alicia Silverstone, Christina Applegate, Christy Turlington and Pamela Anderson – who have all gone nearly-nude for a good cause.
In a Q&A with the animal-rights group, the actress revealed that she hasn’t worn fur since her first ever movie premiere.
Eva calls her decision to wear the fur wrap picked out by her stylist as “ignorant” and confesses that she was contacted by PETA afterwards to “comment on my less-than-educated choice.”
PETA, she said, wrote her a "beautiful letter to comment on my less-than-educated choice. I was so impressed that I vowed to them and myself to never wear real fur...again."
She added: "Personally, I think wearing a baby chinchilla says, 'I'm ignorant,' [not] 'I'm badass.'"
